A call for prayers and healing thoughts

Early this month Anne Rice had taken a bit of a hiatus from her Page because she needed to focus on writing her latest Vampire Chronicle to be titled "Blood Paradise" and we are all excited for it. I remember it was Vicky Wilson, her editor, who suggested the title. Miss Wilson is the vice president and senior editor at Alfred A. Knopf.

Anne was slated to return to the Page with her daily posts on 25th January, but then we found out that she's down with shingles. Here's her post.

If you are the praying type, please send a prayer for Anne's recovery. Light a candle, sit in silence, or call to the God of the Cosmos, whichever it is that's your preferred form of prayer. Thank you.

What are shingles? I'm not familiar with them. I looked it up on WebMD and found out that it's a painful rash caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. I'm glad to know that Anne has a team of doctors that has her on medications for this condition. It's not a fun disease, but part of her treatment is quite enjoyable.

Becket reported on the Page that Anne's physical therapy involves assembling train sets and miniature villages. How cute is that? Photo grabbed from the page!
